Tables
Are 42 cm high, but can be also changed according to your requirements. The table bases are brushed stainless steel with non-scratch feet pads, but could potentially be made in any metal.

Pictures
They are hung with four 'Z' hooks in each corner. This holds the picture securely on the wall and creates a small gap of 5mm from the wall, creating a 'floating' effect. The design goes around the side of the picture so there is no need for a frame.

Environmental / Sustainable Resource Policy
I make sure that for every piece sold, another 10 trees are planted in the UK. If you would like to support tree planting and woodland management please contact the woodland trust at http://www.woodland-trust.org.uk.

How Are They Made?

In short, each individual wood art panel is made from hand selected veneers that are precision laser cut before being pressed onto a substrate and finished with oil and lacquer, then polished back to enhance the wood's grain.

The process is time consuming and demands the very best in veneer selection and laser cutting technology.

For each wood art picture, veneers are meticulously selected for their ability to portray the theme of each design. So, the veneers selected for Blocks, have very bold, straight grain to emphasise the square shapes within the design, whilst the backdrop of Lacewood burr provided the contrast of reddish brown swirls.

You will see within the Lacewood paler areas where the colour varies within the tree with this natural variation helping to add to the character of the picture.

Once selected, the veneers are cut to shape using a laser, to enable seamless joins thereby allowing each of the woods to sit neatly next to one another. This impressive technology is probably best seen within Planets if you look closely at its perfectly round Walnut burr circles set against the light straight grain Pine background.

All the individual veneer pieces are then fitted together, including the veneers to run round the sides of the picture and then pressed onto the substrate board. The picture is then sanded to produce a perfectly smooth surface.

The final part of the process really brings out the true beauty of the wood. Left untreated, wood has a reasonably dull appearance so a combination of oil and a low sheen lacquer are applied to bring out its deep lustre.

It's a time consuming process, with each coat being sanded down before the next one can be applied.

To give you an idea, the last coat of polish alone has over twenty hours of polishing to create the finish but I think for wood lovers - it's worth it!
