Blocks

One of the defining places of wood in history has been its potential as a building material.  Its strength, coupled with its ability to be cut and shaped has made it a natural choice for structures and buildings.

To show a tree’s natural strength I have used a basic square shape with the grain of the woods running horizontally and vertically to emphasis its geometric use within building design.

The palate is purposely red, to make a reference to brick, our modern building material of choice, using Copiada and Etimoe with their hints of rusty pinks, through to Paduk and Brazilian Rosewood with their glorious bold streeks of orangey-reds, against a contrasting background of Lacewood burr.
