Trees, in all their varied glory, are the true inspiration for my designs. Their journey from tiny seed to adult magnificence is awesome and genuinely humbling. From those fragile, wispy beginnings, they grow in strength and stature, steadily and powerfully to become living, life-supporting landmarks.

In celebration of the infinite, extraordinary variety of trees and woods from across the world, I have produced a set of four designs; Blocks, Ripples, Planets and Waves.

My own personal enjoyment and my inspiration comes from looking closely at the various wonderful grains, intricate patterns and tones within each type of wood. It is fascinating to see how time has sculpted its own picture on what is essentially just water and fibre and there is almost mesmeric pleasure in looking really closely at each small detail within each piece.
